Constance "Connie" Hernandez, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 11, 2023, she was 67 years old. Connie, the 13 th of 15 children, was born in San Diego, California in 1955. She enjoyed traveling and was able to spend several years living in Spain with her then young children. In 1983, Connie and the family returned to the states and spent time in Texas and Washington before finally settling in Flour Bluff where she would remain, building a community of friends and faith that she cherished. She found joy in raising her children and was a big presence in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie extended her love for children when she began working at Yorktown Baptist Church in 2006, a job that she held until her retirement in 2020.Connie's kindness left a lasting impression on the children she worked with and their families, making her a trusted bonus family member that would happily babysit when needed. Connie was also a celebrated pet sitter working with many local families, she loved making sure that their furry friends were happy and healthy while their humans were away.

Connie enjoyed spending her free time taking small trips with friends, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Evelyn and Ona Ramsay, as well as 9 of her beloved brothers and sisters. Connie is survived by her three children, Raymond (Anna) Hernandez, Rebecca (Paul) Anzaldua and Christopher (Serena) Hernandez, 5 brothers and sisters, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 44 nieces and nephews.  Connie was a vital piece of our family and will be missed by us all.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to a cause that was close to Connie's heart such as New Life Refuge , Pregnancy Center of the Coastal Bend , The Rise School of Corpus Christi or the Gulf Coast Humane Society .

A memorial service will be held at Yorktown Baptist Church located at 5025 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78413 on March 11, 2023, at 10:00 am with a reception following in the lobby. The public is welcome to attend.
