IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Conrado M.
Garcia, Jr.
March 3, 1946 – July 20, 2020
Conrado M. Garcia, Jr.
(March 3, 1946 – July 20, 2020)
To friends he was known as, Conrad, to his family, Jr., but he always loved being called Dad and Grandpa.
This tribute is for a wonderful man who loved his family, adored his grandchildren, laughed with friends, and always appreciated the excitement of a golf tournament, track meet, baseball, basketball, and football games. He was a fan of professional sports; but it was the drive and determination of witnessing a young athlete soar to their potential that drove him to cheer for local high school and college teams.
Born in Kingsville, Texas, to Conrado and Eva Garcia, he was their first born and a big brother to six sisters and one brother. Dad learned the trade of ranch life on the King Ranch helping his dad and grandfather who were Vaqueros. He joined the workforce at a young age and began a very successful career with Frito-Lay for 30 years. He loved building his career and teaching the "younger" generation the true essence of work. Because dad loved treating his lovely wife, Lupita with her wishes; his dedication to work continued at O'Reilly's for 15 more years.
Dad's first love had true muscle power, his 1968 GTO; however, he met the love of his life, Lupita, on July 4, 1967. Two years later, they married at the Corpus Christi Cathedral on July 12, 1969 and celebrated 51 years of a beautiful life together. In 1971, they welcomed their first daughter, Regina Ann. In 1981 they were blessed with their second daughter, Ronika Renee. His love for his daughters was every little girl's dream come true. In 2001, he became a grandpa to Riel Andres, and in 2011 his second grandson, Joaquin Anthony was born. Finally, he had boys to share the love of golf, ranch life, and baseball.
As a child, he learned how to be loved; as an adult, he provided the gift of unconditional love; and, as a friend to many, he humbly gave the gift of his kindness and loyalty to last a lifetime.
