Christopher John Kerpet passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday September 24, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 72 years old.

Christopher was born on January 24, 1948 in Dearborn, Michigan to Walter Kerpet and Eleanore Nowakowski. He graduated from St Alphonsus in 1966. Christopher then got married to Karen Krupski on May 26, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan. Christopher Worked for the Ford Motor Credit Company and retired from there in 2001. He enjoyed bowling and playing darts at the Moose Lodge where he earned the beloved nickname of "Huggie Bear". He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a proud member of the Alhambra where he held the position of Grand Commander for a short time. Christopher is also a Veteran of the US Army and served in Korea. He also enjoyed watching football Monday night, Thursday night, all day Saturday and Sunday as well. His wife bought noise cancelling headphones. His happy place was relaxing at Bear Cave Resort on his swing with a bon fire. He will be surely missed.

Christopher is preceded in death by his daughter Sara Kerpet, his brother Ron Kerpet, and his sister Kathy Plackowski. He is survived by his wife Karen Kerpet, his son Randy Kerpet (Joy), his daughters Michelle Kerpet (Brian) and Amanda Kerpet, his grandchildren Jeremiah Kerpet-Papoi and Avery Kelley, his siblings Marcia Young, Jerry Kerpet, Mike Kerpet, and Charlie Kerpet, and multiple nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Services will be held on Friday October 2, 2020 at 11 am at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at 2510 Twine Dr, C.C., TX 78414.
