IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Milton
West
July 31, 1947 – February 2, 2018
Charles is the eldest of twin sons of Henry Milton West and Margaret Elizabeth Turner, both parents deceased. He is the eldest of a remaining 10 siblings made up of 7 brothers: Joseph West, Erwin West, Rodney West, Dwayne West, Eric West, George West , Charles West (deceased) and 3 sisters: Florence Beasley (deceased), Belinda West and Jacqueline Zanders.
He fathered 3 children; Charlesetta, Kendrick and Kendill West, had 2 grandchildren; Albert Thompson III and Kaylana West; and one great-grandson, Amir Thompson.
Charles was known in his community as an activist and advocate. He used his intellect and passion to help others achieve their highest potential and goals. During his years in CCAD he was a voice in the promotions of several peers while being content with his own status He became a well know resource for all persons seeking to obtain opportunities that seemed out of reach. of particular interest was the boys he coached in the Corpus Christi Youth Football League for at least 15 years. He was head coach of the Broncos and lead their team to win the leagues Super Bowl on multiple occasions. He had a never give up attitude and remained active in CCYL until medical conditions caused him to be benched, yet he continued to coach from the side line.
All of those who were a part of his favorites, family, friends, fishing and football, will miss him dearly. He will be missed indefinitely but should not be eternally mourned as the thought of him to those who knew and loved him will without a doubt bring a smile to the heart.
We love you Dad and you did us proud.
