Obituary

Charles Isaac Lovett, Jr. was born in Galveston County, Texas on 7/1/1941. He died peacefully at home on 3/8/2022.

Except for the years he spent in the U. S. Army, he grew up and lived in South Texas. Many of those years were spent in the Corpus Christi and Odem area. Among the organizations he enjoyed was his membership in the American Legion. He graduated from Odem High School where he excelled in one of his favorite sports, track and field. He was well known for his ability to out run his competitors in the 100 yard dash. Later, his love of sports turned to a love of fishing. He spent many happy hours trying to catch the big one!

Charles was always an out going friendly person who was ready and willing to help that person in need. His working years were spent in oilfield related vocations. He worked for Gemoco, Halliburton, and Schlumberger before putting that knowledge into his own business Lovett, Inc., Lovett Sandblasting, and Industrial Wiring Services.

Charles is survived by his wife Genelle, a son Chad, a daughter Jacquie, 3 sisters, Beth, Ruth, and Jo Ann, a brother James, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and two sons.
