Charles Richard Knight, passed away August 6, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 73 years of age.
Born in Laurel, Mississippi to his mother Mary Helen (Floyd) Patton on March 2, 1945.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, and continued to serve his community as an artist. His art fills numerous homes, cities, billboards, businesses. A few notable places in Corpus Christi are Wallbanger's Burgers, The Car Shack, many church signs, and the list goes on and on.
The soul of Charles continues to burn bright in the hearts and minds of those he loved. The art he chose to share, will bring life and color to the world for years to come.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Helen, and his brothers: Bill, Johnny and Tommy.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife Gloria Knight, his children: Betty (Joe) Tapia, Billy Knight, Clifford (Carmen) Knight, Charles Knight Jr, Shirley (Mike) Bollier, and Mary Soto; grandchildren: Austin, Olivia, Jacob, Kayla, Natalie, Dylan, Opal Jean, Amanda, Justin, Mark, Luke, Landon, Heather; his sisters: Linda Hudson and Nan Pritt, numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:30 A.M. THURSDAY, AUGUST 9, 2018 AT GUARDIAN FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. INTERMENT WITH MILITARY HONORS WILL FOLLOW AT THE COASTAL BEND STATE VETERANS CEMETERY, 9974 IH 37 ACCESS RD.
