Catarina A. Mercado was called home on August 5, 2024 at the age of 88.

She was born in McCoy, Texas on April 30, 1936 to her parents Pedro and Elisa Amador.

A beloved daughter, mother, a grandmother to 3 generations, sister, aunt and friend to many is now at rest.

Catarina is joined now in heaven by her children: Diana M. Rios, Luis Mercado, Sylvia Ann Mercado, Pedro Mercado, Jr. and granddaughter Melinda R Davis

She was survived by her children: Calista Rose (Troy) Nelson, Mary M. Rios, Manuel Mercado;  grandchildren: Elisa Rios, John Antonio Rios, Jr., Sylvia Ann Nelson, Adrian Mercado, Miguel Haro, Jr., Alexis M. (Thomas) Wexler; Great grandchildren: Marissa Davis, Aubree Rios, Imogen Jones, Santiago Trevino IV.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel B, with the Memorial Dinner to follow at Guardian Hall, 5813 Ayers St., from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
