Carrol Jean (Wells) Peters, age 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on May 10, 2024, with family by her side.

Born December 31, 1940, in Brownwood, Texas, Carrol was the second of five children of Lee Dale Wells and Violet (Pulliam) Wells. She grew up in Brownwood, where she met her late husband Anthony "Tony" Graydon Peters, Jr. (1939-2009). They married on August 23, 1961.

Carrol was a Registered Dietician and earned her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Texas Tech University in 1961. She was best known as the Food Service Director at Flour Bluff ISD—that was back when the food was good at school.

She was a lovely soul that nourished the people around her, and not just because she would offer you her "Famous School Lunch Rolls" and "Award-Winning Banana Bread."  She was an amazing cook, exceptional seamstress and caring grandmother. She taught us what it means to love deeply. Her family was always her top priority, and taking care of and nurturing them throughout their lives was her greatest joy.

Carrol is preceded in death by her husband Tony Peters and son Sterling Lee Peters.

She is survived by her daughter Laura Prosek, her husband Darryl Prosek and five grandchildren, Nicole Raney, Marshall Raney, Michael Howard, Brianna Prosek and Jeff Compo; her son Graydon Peters, his wife Kate Peters and four grandchildren, Erin Peters, Madelyn Peters, Jacob Peters and Sophia Peters; and her two sisters, Neva Moten and Kay Davis. And last but not least…Felix.

We would like to thank the nursing staff on the sixth floor at Spohn Shoreline and the amazing staff at Mirador Skilled Nursing.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 , at 1 pm at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown, in Corpus Christi, Texas, 78417.
Casual, colorful, attire encouraged.
