Our mother, Carmel "Carmen" Salinas, age 68, passed away into God's graces in her family home on Thursday April 14, 2022. Carmel was born on December 11, 1953, to her late mother and father Juanita and Isidro Carrizales in Pearsall, Texas. Carmel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a sister, aunt, and a friend.

In 1976 she married the love of her life, Fred Sanchez Salinas and they created a life they loved in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together they raised two boys, Fred and Eric who gave her five grandchildren -Persephone, Ethan, Brianna, Seth, and Jayden and a great grandchild Millenia. During her time with us, Carmel enjoyed sparking up a conversation with anyone and everyone and making friends everywhere she went. She also loved dancing to good music no matter where she was.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Josefina, her brothers Luis and Javier and husband Fred. Carmel is survived by her two sons, sisters Antonia (Joe) and Maria Elena (Lupe), and her five grandchildren and great grandchild.

Services will be held at the Veterans Cemetery and details will be announced once the family has determined a date.
