Obituary

Carlos Plazola Sr., born on October 1, 1967, in the heart of Corpus Christi, Texas, was a beacon of strength and joy to all who knew him. He returned to his Creator on October 5, 2025, in his beloved hometown, with the same unwavering faith in his Christian values that had guided him through his 58 years of life.

From his early days, Carlos was known for his commitment to hard work. He honed his strong work ethic in the tough environment of refineries and oil fields after graduating from Del Mar College in 1993. His dedication to his profession was surpassed only by the love he had for his family. Carlos saw the family as the cornerstone of life, with his sons and grandchildren holding the most precious place in his heart.

He was a devoted brother and a protector to his siblings, Stella and Manuel Plazola, who were his backbone through both good times and bad. Carlos was the quintessential family man, always bringing laughter and love to gatherings, and taking considerable pride in giving his nephews and nieces a protective and nurturing uncle's care.

There was never a dull moment when Carlos was around; he was invariably the life of the party, spreading laughter amongst friends with his sharp wit and infectious laughter. A devotee of the music of INTOCABLE, he could often be found sipping his favorite beer and sharing jokes, his charisma lighting up any backyard BBQ.

Fondly remembered for his impeccable sense of style, Carlos lived by the motto that it was essential to always dress to impress, jokingly adding that "all the women wanted him." His generosity knew no bounds, especially when it came to his family, to whom he was exceedingly generous.

His speech was peppered with his signature phrases: "Hey you guys", "Me Entiendes", "Stupid little girls", "Who loves mandooo", and "Pa Que Sepas", bringing laughter and familiarity to each encounter.

Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, Jose L. Plazola and Evangelina Plazola; grandparents on both sides, Jose L. Plazola, Maria M. Plazola, Asencion Rincon, and Guadalupe Rincon; siblings Jose Plazola III, Guadalupe Gutierrez, Maria M. Plazola, and Esperanza Plazola Escamilla.

He leaves behind his cherished sons, Carlos Plazola Jr. and his wife, Abigail, and Kevin Davis and his wife, Justine; surviving siblings, Manuel Plazola, Stella and her husband, Mando, and Trini Garcia with her spouse, Lonnie. They will hold dear the memories of their beloved brother.

Carlos's god sister, Sylvia Gonzalez, and her husband, Jerry, mourn the loss of a man who was like family to them. Carlos's legacy will live on through his seven grandchildren, his many nephews and nieces, and especially in the hearts of his seven Escamilla "nieces" who held a special place in his heart. His best friends Chris Dinn, Rick Hernandez, Juanio Alvarado, and Eddie will forever cherish the memories of hanging out with a cold one in hand and laughing for hours.

His step pet, Benji, will miss his loving human companion. While we mourn the loss of a man who was larger than life, we celebrate the indelible mark that Carlos Plazola Sr. left on the world. He may have departed from this earthly realm, but his spirit and the laughter he shared will resonate for generations to come. SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE.
