Brenda Ruiz Curiel, 49, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 17, 1964, and she attended schools in West Oso. Mrs. Curiel was a longtime employee of Bay Area Hospital and Doctors Regional Hospital as a Medical Administrator. She was preceded in death by her father, Emilio Ruiz, grandparents, Claudio G. Valdez and Aminta S. Valdez who raised her from childhood. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, friend and she will be dearly missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband, Leonides Curiel, her mother, Aminta I. Valdez, son, Anthony Lara, daughters, Sierra Lopez, Camryn Escochea, step-son, Jesse Curiel (Veronica), one granddaughter, three grandsons, uncle, Arturo Valdez, aunt, Sally Valdez, who were very close to Brenda.
