Billie Lou (Hyatt) Cooper (79) passed away on Sunday May 24, 2015 in Ingleside, Texas to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She fought a good fight in her battle with cancer. She passed away with her husband, children, grandchildren, sister and family at her side. She was born on March 22, 1936 to William (Bill) Franklin and Thelma Lou (Stuart) Hyatt in Reydon, Oklahoma. She came to Texas when she was three years old, and lived her entire life in the Aransas Pass/Ingleside area.
As a teenager, she worked for Central Pharmacy and Fox Drug store in Aransas Pass, Texas. She also worked for General Telephone as an operator. Later, she worked for Dairy Queen and then maintained a 30 year career of delivering newspapers for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times servicing the Aransas Pass area as a residential and business distributor. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene her entire life.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clifford Boyd Cooper; children Gary (Beverly) Cooper, Tim (Patricia) Cooper, and Rebecca (Rick) Nielsen.She is survived by one sister Elaine (Ronnie) Henninger and one brother Glen (Lorraine) Holiday. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way in October, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Paula Pierson, Claudie Blackburn, and her brothers Ernie Hyatt, Russell Hyatt, Stanley Hyatt, and Arnold Holiday and Ronald B. Cooper (son).
The family would like to thank Lea Sutton from Christus-Spohn Hospice for her professional, tender, and loving care for Billie Lou (Momma). Lea comforted, cared for, and educated the family immensely during our time of need.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30th at 9:30 am at the Church of the Nazarene, 400 Lang Rd, Portland Texas. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Portland Church of Nazarene Building Fund, P.O. Box 1028 Portland, TX, 78374.
