Bettye Lee McCorkle, age 64, of Corpus Christi, Tx, entered eternal rest on April 30, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 19, 1960 in Peoria, Illinois  to Samuel and Lulu Bell Lawson.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Bettye lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service. She was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, chose a career path in nursing and loved helping others. Bettye was a loved and cherished mother, Grammy, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Lulu Bell Lawson, sister Virginia Lovett, son Adrian Devan McCorkle, and grandson Adrian Reese McCorkle.

Bettye is survived by Donald McCorkle, children Donald Reese McCorkle and Andre Maurice McCorkle (Leighton), grandchildren Braylon, Kamdyn, Chandler, and Kyler McCorkle. Sisters Johnnie M. Edwards and Arlenda Lawson.

To celebrate Bettye's life and legacy, a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Church, 5445 Greenwood Dr, with Church Service to begin at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery, 2500 Debra Ln, where Bettye will be laid to rest.
