Obituary

Bertha Evans Dominguez, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on October 1, 1939, in Austin, Texas, and lived a life defined by love, devotion, and quiet strength.

Bertha was the heart of her home—a devoted wife, a stay-at-home mother, and the steady foundation of her family. Her life was one of selfless service, deep faith, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. She expressed her love not through grand gestures, but through constancy: warm meals, open arms, prayers spoken softly, and a presence that made everyone feel safe and cared for. Her faith guided her through every season of life and was reflected in the compassion and grace she showed to all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Wilmot Evans and Charles Pink Evans Sr.; her beloved husband, Juan Gilberto Dominguez Sr.; her sisters Mary Louise Soto and Ida Evans; her brother Charles Evans Jr.; and her cherished granddaughter, Jessica Dominguez.

Bertha is survived by her loving children: Juan G. Dominguez Jr., John (Jen) Dominguez, Liza (Ray) Lara, Manuel (Marie) Dominguez, Bertha Ann Dominguez, and Nora A. Dominguez; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy of her later years. She is also survived by her siblings Elizabeth E. Perales, Edward Evans, Albert Evans, John Evans, and Manuel Evans.

Those who knew Bertha will remember her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured, the values she instilled, and the generations that follow because of her.
