Berta Benavidez Gonzalez, 68, years of age
went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 1, 2015. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 31, 1947. Berta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and she will be dearly missed. She was a very supportive wife, always wanted to be by her husband's side, till death.
She was preceded in death by parents Manuel and Dolores Benavidez, Sisters, Delia Rodriguez, Delfina Benavides, Santa Maria Elizondo, Brother,Robert Benavidez.
Married to Ricardo Gonzalez of 53 years.
Berta is survived by her children: Ricardo (Veronica) Gonzalez Jr., Grace Gonzalez-Rowland (Richard), Lori Gonzalez (Andy), Gilbert (Abril) Gonzalez, Monica Gonzalez, and Gabriella Gonzalez (Jesse).
Grandchildren: Richard Gonzalez, Valerie Franklin, Angelica Gonzalez, Priscilla Gonzalez, Ricardo Gonzalez III, Gabriel Ricardo Rowland, John Matthew Gonzalez, Celeste Gonzalez, Ricardo Gonzalez IV, Albert Sanchez Jr., Adryano Gonzalez, Gilbert Nathanyal Gonzalez, Jaiden Fonseca, and Sophia Gonzalez, and a
Great grandson Allen Martinez, and up coming great granddaughter,
Nephew she helped raise Virgil Maldonado III.
Also survived by her siblings, Sylvia Maldonado, Janie Martinez, Viola Martinez, Manuel Benavides and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic church, SPID/Kostoryz. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Pall-Bearers will be Ricardo Gonzalez Jr, Gabriel Ricardo Rowland, Richard Gonzalez, Ricardo Gonzalez IV, Adryano Gonzalez, Andrew Garza, Richard Rowland, Virgil Maldonado.
