IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernardino R.
Flores
February 21, 1936 – December 25, 2023
Bernardino R. Flores passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 87.
Bernardino was born on February 21, 1936 in Nixon, Texas to Luciano C. Flores and Lydia Ruiz.
As we seek to capture such a wonderful life in only a few words, we are reminded of a gentle and loving man of God, whose heart showed kindness to his friends, his family, and even the smallest animals of the earth. He was blessed to create a beautiful sanctuary of peace upon his ranch, an accomplishment that brought him great joy. He had a love for music of all genres; his eclectic collection of albums was vast; leading him to learn and play various instruments throughout his life.
Although he dedicated 40 years of service as a courier for the Greyhound Bus Lines, which allowed him to travel for work, he never missed an opportunity to travel and explore the country with his family. His work ethic and infinite knowledge of all things made for hours of beautiful stories and memories that he happily shared with those around him. The saying remains true, "he never met a stranger." With this legacy of love and strength, we bid farewell to a remarkable man. His love will always be our guide.
Bernadino is joined now in heaven by his Wife: Oralia Olvera Flores; Daughters: Lupe Gouveia and Mandy Flores; Siblings: Janie Gonzalez, Edilia Halkides, Luciano (Chano) Flores, Rosa Silva and Flora Kinnaman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, Son: Albert Flores and wife Diane Flores; Daughter: Lydia Castro and husband Dennis Castro; Daughter: Nancy Gomez; Former wife and lifetime friend whom he shared his children with, Dora Galan Flores; Grandchildren: Veronica, Jimmy, Natalie and Sarah Gouveia of Chicago; Grandson: Christopher C. Valadez and wife Ana Valadez; Granddaughter: Amanda Rose Valadez Grandson: Gabriel Gomez; Great Grandson: Christopher Valadez Jr.; Siblings: Nancy Rossi, Henry Flores, Claudia Graham; along with his pet cat: Mr. Freckles.
