Mrs. Benita Ortega Guerra, age 92 , of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.  A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired educator, Benita lived a life full of love, grace, and quiet strength.

Born and raised in Texas, Benita dedicated her career to shaping young minds as a teacher with the Corpus Christi Independent School District.  Her passion for education and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless students.

Benita is preceded in death by her husband, Edwardo Guerra, and her son, John Guerra.

Benita is survived by her loving children, Cynthia Garcia, David Guerra, Edward L. Guerra, and Jacqueline D. Garza. Benita was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother who found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories full of warmth and love.

Benita treasured the quiet beauty of early mornings, the storytelling of her favorite novelas, and most of all the time spent with her family.  Her calm presence, gentle heart, and deep devotion to her loved ones will be forever remembered.
