Barbara Belle Sedlachek, 71, went home to the Lord in the arms of her daughter surrounded with family on September 1, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Barbara was born to Walter and Grace Carlock on December 8, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Minneapolis West High School and went on to graduate from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, completing her education by becoming a Special Education Teacher. She married the love of her life, Michael Sedlachek, on October 3, 1970. To pursue her passion for education they moved to south Texas in 1986. They became parents to Lori Sedlachek in 1987. Barbara continued to teach for 30 years. She was a children's church minister for over 20 years. She advocated for all children.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Carlock, and mother, Grace Evelyn Carlock.
Barbara is survived by her husband of over 50 years: Michael Sedlachek; Daughter: Lori Sedlachek Rodriguez; Grandchildren: Carlos Niko Salinas, Benito Rodriguez, Alyanna Rodriguez, Jazlene Belle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Sedlachek Salinas, Ezekiel Rodriguez; Step Grandchildren: Pedro Rodriguez, Monalu Rodriguez. Family: Danielle Rodriquez (JonRoss Rodriquez) Lucian Rodriquez, Lilith Rodriquez, Deisy E. Pineda (Juan B. Pineda), Juan Manuel Pineda, Ellaine E. Pineda, Jazmine M Pineda, Jazmine M Pineda, Marck A. Pineda, Jason A. Pineda, Juan Carlos Salinas, Thomas R Davila (Bridgette Kennedy), Thomas Davila, Jr.; Sisters: Jane McClain (Ronald), Phyllis Ware; Nephew: Jeff Kyong-McClain (Jill), Akiko, and Owen; Niece: Joy McClain (Donato Bastian Mota), Citlali Bastian McClain and Guille Bastian McClain.
Celebration of Life service will be held at Abundant Life Church of Los Fresnos where she was a devoted member for 24 years. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021. Visitation: 2pm to 6pm. Celebration of Life Service: 7pm. Final Visitation: 8:30pm to 9pm.
Barbara loved the Lord she was a light everywhere she went she had a passion for teaching, serving others, and sharing the love of the Lord. May her life be a testimony to the faithfulness of God. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. In honor of her, spread kindness as she sings and dances in the streets of gold in heaven. In the presence of God there is fullness of joy.
