IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aurelio H.
Vega
November 12, 1938 – January 29, 2023
Aurelio H. Vega passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 29, 2023 at his residence in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Aurelio was born in Flagstaff, Arizona on November 12, 1938 to his parents Aurelio O. Vega and Josefa Hernandez Vega. He received his formal education at Flagstaff High School graduating in the Class of 1956. On February 16, 1963, two hearts would become one as he married his soulmate Maria Magdalena Juarez, together they welcomed six children and lifetime of precious memories. Around the year 1966 they moved to Texas and have called Corpus Christi home since then.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many is now at rest. Although it would be nearly impossible to capture such a wonderful life in only a few words, most would describe Aurelio as being devoted to his family, filled with compassion and joy for his neighbor and friends alike, always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a tremendous faith in God and in turn taught his children to be courageous, strong, loyal, independent and caring. He always kept the mentality that one leads by example and he boldly lead his family with these examples of love that he displayed on a daily basis.
Out of devotion to his country, he proudly served in the United States Army - National Guard Reserve. As a hardworking man he dedicated over 30 years of service to H-E-B Grocery, where he would eventually retire. As a family man, he provided a wonderful life to his wife, his children, and even his grandchildren. Aurelio will be remembered for his great love of music. He always found joy playing both the trumpet and the accordion; no holiday or celebration was complete until he blessed us with a few special songs. This legacy of strength, love, and happiness that he leaves embedded in our hearts will live on for generations to come.
Aurelio is joined now in heaven by his parents Aurelio O. Vega and Josefa Hernandez Vega; sisters: Georgia Carreño, Julia Vasquez, Leonarda Hernandez, Anita Urias; brother Tomas Vega; and beloved grandchildren Nicholas Vega and Zachary Vega.
He leaves behind to cherish these memories, his wife of nearly 60 years, Maria Magdalena Vega; six children: Clara Vega Moreno, Rosa Maria Vega, Juan Carlos Vega, Sylvia (Raul) Rios, Reuben Jaime Vega, and Noe (Sarah) Vega; 14 grandchildren and a host of extended members of the family and countless friends whom he loved dearly.
