Aurelio
Soliz III
February 17, 1970 – April 6, 2026
Aurelio Soliz III, age 56, passed away on April 6, 2026, in Corpus Christi, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was born on February 17, 1970, in Sinton, Texas, to Aureliano Soliz Jr. and Diana Rose Sylva Escamilla, and was raised in Clarendon, Texas.
Aurelio graduated from Odem High School in 1989 and carried the values of determination and responsibility throughout his life. He lived with a strong work ethic and a natural curiosity that led him to learn, build, repair, and improve nearly anything placed before him. His remarkable ability to fix whatever needed fixing earned him the affectionate nickname “MacGyver” among those who knew and loved him best.
He was a true jack of all trades and took great pride in doing things the right way. Aurelio approached life with patience, skill, and a steady hand, and he was always willing to share what he knew with others. He especially enjoyed teaching his beloved grandchildren, and his guidance left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of learning from him. His patience, kindness, and willingness to help made him a trusted teacher and a dependable presence in the lives of many.
Aurelio also had a quick wit and a warm sense of humor that could bring laughter to any room. He loved Star Wars and embraced that passion with a playful spirit that reflected his personality so well. He also had a gift for cooking, and his meals brought family and friends together in moments of comfort, celebration, and connection. More than anything, he will be remembered for the love he gave freely, the lessons he shared generously, and the strength of character he carried every day.
He is survived by his parents, Aureliano Soliz Jr., Diana “Dee” and Danny “Popo” Escamilla; his siblings, Elizabeth Soliz, Betty Jean Ramirez, Steven James Soliz, and Olga Beatriz Farias; his children, Marcos Soliz, Mercedes Soliz, Matthew Soliz, Amanda Soliz, and Aurelio “AJ” Soliz IV; his grandchildren, Ariah “Peanut,” Arina “Sweet Pea,” Maleah “Pumpkin,” Roy III “The Fella”, Matthew Jr. “Torito,” MariElla "Pickle", Solvei “Nana,” Zachariah, and Josiah; his longtime companion, Teresa Fuentes Highfill and numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered with love by the many relatives and friends whose lives he touched through his kindness, loyalty, and steady support.
Aurelio will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew him. His life was defined by love, service, and selflessness, and his memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, wisdom, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
