Aurelia Moreno Bazan passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 14, 2017. She was born on April 2,1944 in Kingsville, Texas. She is proceeded in death by her father Alberto E. Moreno, nieces Brenda and Madelyn Rhychetsky, brother Arnold Moreno, and her good friend Danny McClanahan. Surviving Aurelia are her son, Carlos Bazan and his wife, Marlo, of Corpus Christi; her daughter Alice Perez and her husband, Raul, of San Antonio; grandchildren Gabriela, Isaac, Jeremy and Isabela; the father of her children, Heriberto P. Bazan; her mother, Lydia Movick; sisters and brother, Yolanda Bazan, Irma Luera, Richard Moreno (Ofelia), Gloria Loredo (Joe); Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Aurelia is a graduate of H.M. King High School, and studied at Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. She worked many years at Celanese Chemical Company and most recently at Derco Logistics with CCAD. Aurelia was active in many professional and social groups such as the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas, Feria De Las Flores, American G.I. Forum, LULAC, El Dorado Club and Chemcel Club. She also had many interests such as folklorico dancing, charity work, and spending afternoons gardening in her beautiful backyard. Aurelia also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She always received compliments on her cooking, especially her mashed potatoes, brownies and Mexican hot chocolate. She was a devoted daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, friend and parishioner at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Services will be held in Corpus Christi, Texas. There will be a visitation on October 20, 2017 at 5 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown Access Rd. The funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd.
