IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Audrey Gowing
Gardner
April 18, 1927 – January 17, 2023
Audrey Gowing Gardner, born in Tampa, Fl on April 18, 1927, daughter of Milan and Louise Gowing, departed this earth to meet her Heavenly Father on January 17 th , 2023. She was 95 years old and had been living in Corpus Christi, TX, at the time of her death. Audrey was a kind and loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She grew up in a small town near Tampa, Fl and graduated from Brandon High School in 1944. She met and married Max Gardner in Tampa in 1961, and moved immediately to Dallas, TX, where Max had accepted a job transfer. They would soon buy a home in the Dallas suburb of Richardson, TX, where Audrey would live until she moved to Houston, TX in 2016. Audrey was married to Max for almost 51 years, until his death in 2012. Audrey had 2 children, Mike, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 51, and Patricia Gardner Bloom, 57, who currently lives with her husband Mark Bloom, 62, in Corpus Christi, TX. Audrey regularly attended church services at St. Barnabas Presbyterian, where she had many friends, and was active in church affairs.
Audrey was blessed with three grandchildren, Alex Bloom, 30, of Austin, TX, Logan Bloom, 27, of Dallas, TX, and Caylie Bloom, 22, currently residing near Clemson, SC. She's survived by her two sisters, Margie Bradford and Linda Gowing, both currently residing in North Carolina, along with many nieces and nephews. Audrey always found time for her family and friends, and was very considerate of everyone around her. She never sought the limelight or any special recognition, though it was certainly much deserved; her loving nature was cherished by all who knew her. Audrey's dedication to improving the lives of others was well illustrated by her extensive volunteering career. She donated her time and her love at Methodist Hospital in Richardson for 20 years. In addition, she volunteered at the Richardson public library for many years, and was frequently seen in exercise class at the Richardson recreation center. She was also a teacher's aide at an elementary school for disabled children in Richardson. Funeral services are undetermined at this time, however most likely they will be held in April near her relatives in North Carolina. She will be laid to rest in Tampa, Fl, nearby her mother and father.
