Mr. Arturo Villarreal Garcia, 73, passed away on November 1, 2020. He was born in Gregory, Texas on July 25, 1947 to Leonardo P. Garcia and Albertina Villarreal Garcia. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Arturo will be remembered for his love of music, guitar playing, as a great storyteller and jokester. He had a friendly personality and could make friends with just about anyone. He had an amazing love for his family and friends.

He was a great storyteller and jokester. He loved to reminisce about his time in the military. He was so proud of his service to his country. Arturo enjoyed honoring those who served along with him on Veteran's Day and those he lost on Memorial Day.

Arturo was an avid walker. If you lived in Corpus Christi, you could probably attest this fact. You probably saw him making his rounds.

He was loved dearly by all that knew him. He will be missed for his great stories, silly jokes, singing, and beautiful laughter.

Arturo is survived by his son Arturo Garcia, Jr.; his daughter Anna Lisa (Steven) Matzen; sisters Yolanda (R.P.) Perez, Francis (Ismael + ) Arredondo, Mary Ann (Joe) Saenz, and Delia (Norris) Scott, 2 grandchildren Joshua Matzen and Stephanie (Tanen) Trahan; 4 great-grandchildren Adele Matzen, Liam Matzen, Emory Matzen and Ariah Trahan as well as many nieces and nephews.

Public visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2020 with a Service to be held at 12:30 p.m. followed by burial with Full Military honors at 2:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 Access Rd.
