Arlene was born November 2, 1931 in Corpus Christi to August E Sparks and Emma Bracht Sparks. She is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Albert (Bud) Hoffman, her three sisters Emma Lee Smith, Genevieve Sebastian, and Augusta (Tita) Burris and her grandchild Alison Donatucci.
She is survived by her two children, Laura Chavana (John) and Bryan Hoffman (Kay), her five grandchildren Joy, Jill, Chad, Nathan, Travis and her seven great grandchildren.
Arlene met the love of her life and married Bud in 1950.
She surrounded herself with her children's activities and was always the cheerleader for her Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed working as a volunteer for many years at Spohn Hospital and later working at the gift shop for Driscoll Children's Hospital. She was known for her good cooking, sewing, talents for decorating, piano playing and was always quite the dancer when music was around. Arlene was known only as Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known as the avid puzzle queen of the family.
The family would like to extend thanks to those who were special to her in her time of need, Including Irma and Eddie with Holmgreen Assisted Living, caregiver Maria (LuLu) and appreciate a job well done by the nurses with Harbor Hospice.
A private family service is being planned.
