Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother Antonio Bazan Arenas, was called home, two-weeks short of his 69th birthday, after a debilitating illness, on July 9, 2020. He was an exceptional self-taught artist, lifetime dog lover, Chicano Moratorium supporter, history buff, and loyal former employee of The City of Corpus Christi, up until he became disabled. He was born in Robstown, Texas in 1951 and was raised by migrant worker's, that took him as far as Oregon, then on to Amarillo where he lived for 20 years raising three children. He was preceded in death by his father Antonio V. Arenas, mother Maria B. Arenas, sister San Juanita Garcia all of Robstown, and grandson (the dearest to his heart), Terrin Luis Arenas of Corpus Christi. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Margaret B. Arenas, son Antonio Arenas IV, daughters Tammy R. Avalos (Mark) of Corpus Christi, and Tiffany D. Reyes (Erasmo) of San Antonio. Brothers Eulalio Arenas of Pine Mountain Club, Ca. Luis J. Arenas (Alicia), and sister Esmeralda Martinez of Robstown. Grandchildren Azucena E. Arenas and John Paul Arenas of Corpus Christi, Brandon, Braelynn and Braden Reyes of San Antonio, and two great grandchildren Cecilia Ann Arenas and Dylan Cole Arenas of Corpus Christi, his most cherished companion Oscar, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he adored. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 17 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Masks are required without exception, and social distancing policies will be adhered to for those wanting to attend.
