Anna Raquel Rodriguez, a cherished mother of love and faith, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was also born on November 14, 1945. Known affectionately as "Grandma Rachel," Anna's gentle spirit and nurturing soul left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Anna's life was a testament to her unwavering Christian faith. A devoted Catholic, she found solace and strength in her religious community at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, always embodying the values of love and compassion that are at the heart of Christianity.
A graduate of Corpus Christi High School (now Miller High School), Anna's was a hard worker for her family then retired early, a decision that allowed her to focus on what she cherished most: caring for her grandchildren. Her home was a haven of warmth, where the aroma of chicken gravy with white rice and the best peanut butter cookies filled the air, much to the delight of her loved ones.
Anna's interests extended beyond the kitchen; she was an avid fan of crossword puzzles and took great pleasure in baking for her family. These simple joys brought her immense satisfaction and provided countless cherished memories for her family.
Anna's legacy is carried on by her four children, Sonia Guerra, George Rodriguez (Rocio), Mario Rodriguez (Priscilla), and Frank Rodriguez (Bernice); her brothers, Ruben Martinez (Ingl) and Ray Martinez (Annie); her eleven grandchildren, Monette Rodriguez, Monique Ybarra, Andrew Ybarra (Crystal), Mario Rodriguez (Suzette), Carl Blunck (Eliza), Aaron Rodriguez, Emma Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, Michelle Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, Jorge Rodriguez, and Jose Rodriguez; as well as her nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Each of them reflects a piece of Anna's loving spirit and faith-filled heart. Anna's memory will also be cherished by numerous nieces and nephews, who experienced her love and guidance throughout their lives.
Anna is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Antonio and Antonia Martinez; her sister, Mary Alice King (Richard), and her brother, John Martinez (Glenda).
Anna Raquel Rodriguez was the embodiment of a loving, caring, good mom, and excellent grandma. Her family will forever hold dear the memories of her lovingly cooking and baking, her gentle guidance, and her unwavering support. As they continue to walk through life, they will carry with them the essence of her loving and faith-filled spirit. Anna's life was a beautiful tapestry of devotion to her family and her faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
