IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna (Bardwell)
Barrasi
January 15, 1933 – November 20, 2019
Anna (Mom or Granny) Tula Lee Tillison Bardwell Barrasi, age 86, went to be with her heavenly Father peaceably on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 after home hospice care. She was born on January 15, 1933 in Clegg, Texas to Henry Bo & Fannie Bell (Owens) Tillison. She was a farmer's daughter with a strong, independent and adventurous spirit. At age 4 she told her mother that one day she would travel all over the world. Her mother replied, "sorry little girl but you'll never be anything but a poor farmer's daughter" to which she responded, "Oh, yes I will, just wait and see."
Anna Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years in 1986, Earl Denzel Bardwell , father of their 6 children whom she traveled with to Texas, Louisiana and many foreign countries with his oilfield work; and after his death, her 2nd husband of 27 years in 2010, Peter E. Barrasi who shared her passion for cooking and traveling and introduced all of us to his Italian food and heritage. Also preceding in her death, were her brothers Walter Tillison as an infant, Cyrus Robert (Gladys) Tillison & Henry Reese (Doris) Tillison, and sister Corine "Cora" Sherman, and her son Denzel Ray (Jannet) Bardwell in 2003, Darline Brasher (Mel) Hayes in 2014 and Earline Castleberry (Ken) Rote in 2018.
She is survived by her brothers Ralph (Norma) Moore of Dallas; Jimmy (Judith) Sherman of Vidor; son Alvin Earl (Barbie) Bardwell of Bayside; and daughters Patricia (William) Lumry of Corpus Christi and Donna Kay (Gene) Bryan of San Angelo and blessed with 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 18 great, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and all her many other "kids" and friends. Her greatest joy in life was her faith, family, cooking, sewing, and traveling. She loved to talk about her adventures around the world. Anna never met a stranger no matter what part of the world she lived in and was never afraid as she put her trust and faith in the Lord and taught her children to do likewise.
Memorial Services will follow at 2:00 p.m., November 23, 2019 at Guardian Funeral Home; 5922 Crosstown Access, Corpus Christi, TX 78417 with a picture video of her life beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. A private interment will be held at a later date.
