IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andres Alfredo
Ramos
June 15, 1993 – October 9, 2024
Andres "Dre" Alfredo Ramos, age 31, entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2024. He was born on June 15, 1993 to Yndolfo and Rosie Ramos. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and caregiver to his pets.
Andres attended elementary school at Chula Vista Academy of Fine Arts where he cultivated an interest in art and music and learned to play the violin. Andres received his sacraments and participated as an altar server at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at a young age. He attended middle school at Wynn Seale Academy of Fine Arts where he began learning percussion and adopted his first nickname of "Potter". Andres then attended Foy H. Moody High School and was enrolled in the Innovation Academy. He enjoyed welding classes and being on the drumline. He graduated with the class of 2011. Andres then pursued his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi where he joined the brotherhood of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Sig Ep, building lifelong relationships. While at TAMU-CC he enjoyed tutoring students in math and physics at the Center for Academic Student Achievement (CASA) and adopted the new nickname of "Dre". He completed a thesis on plasma sterilization of medic tools and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. Additionally, Andres continued his studies by completing his Master's in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M - College Station in 2016. Go Aggies!
After his graduation he returned to Corpus Christi to be with family and was recently transitioning into a career of public education. While working on completing an Alternative Certificate Program, Andres was working as a math tutor. He was gifted at motivating his students through connection and compassion and enjoyed seeing his students' confidence improve when they grasped fundamental concepts. Andres frequently received praise and positive feedback from students and parents about his ability to make a difference in their academic success.
Andres enjoyed playing basketball, riding his bike, taking walks along the bayfront, and beating others at video games. He will always be remembered for his caring nature, infectious smile, and love for animals. He believed in a loving and merciful God. While playing "pick up ball" at Water's Edge Park or taking his walks, he regularly initiated conversations with all types of people as he was familiar with some of their struggles with mental illness. Andres cared deeply for rescued pets that became family, including Indy, Chula, Olly, Larry, Charlie, and Sammy Sosa. More recently, he discovered a hobby of birdwatching and loved sharing fun facts that he learned.
