Obituary
Andres C. Garcia, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2018 at the age of 58.
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to his loving parents Jesus and Esther Garcia on January 9, 1960. Having been born near New Year's Day, we believe, that set the tone for his fun, loving, spirit. He met his beautiful life companion Yvonne right here in Corpus Christi, through mutual friends, back in 1984. This encounter would lead to 35 wonderful years of companionship, 3 beautiful children and numerous grandchildren.
Andres had many passions in life, the most notable was his dedication to auto mechanics and his profound love of working on classic cars, if he could have spent every minute in the shop covered in oil, his heart was happy. Sunday nights were never complete without the Dallas Cowboys on the TV, Andres' delicious barbecue on the grill, and lots of die hard shouting! His chef abilities did not end there, anything he cooked was amazing! We can never forget the happiness Tejano music brought him, he loved to dance to it! Andres drove his wife crazy with his decorating skills, no one dare touch or move a piece of art he placed, nor change out that pillow he put on the sofa, it had to be his way, period.
Andres dedicated his life to his family. He taught his children to have a strong faith in God, to be devoted to family, to be strong, loyal, respectful to others, and independent. He expressed every day of his life that one of his greatest joys were his grandchildren. They all brought him so much pride and happiness. All in all, he desired to do good and to help everyone that he could. The legacy of Andres' kind spirit, passion for sports, love of knowledge, and zest for life will live on through his loving family and friends.
Andres leaves behind, to cherish his memories, his wife Yvonne Tellez-Garcia; son Andres Garcia, Jr.; daughters: Erica Garcia (Hector Perez), Bianca Garcia (Richard Gonzalez); grandchildren from Bianca: Vincent, Mercedes, Bianca, Sarah, Michael, Alezae, Ro-zae, Emery; grandchildren from Erica: Serenity, Emiliano, Stepheny, Yolisma "Cookie", and Santana.
Brothers of Andres: Peter Garcia, Johnny Garcia, Fernando Garcia, Furmen Garcia; Sisters of Andres: Mery Ester Garcia Vasquez, Manuela "Nellie" and Frances Garcia Munoz; numerous other loving members of the family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 17 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to begin at 6 p.m.; service will be officiated by Pastor Steve Coronado of Solid Rock Church.
