Andres Alvarez, 52, passed away on May 25, 2019.  He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jane Alvarez, and his three children Andrew Alvarez, Bethany Alvarez, and Andrea Rodriguez, his mother Hortencia Alvarez, brother George Alvarez, and sister Angelica Umble.  He is also survived by his four grandsons who were the light of his life, Noah Rodriguez, Isaac Alvarez, Christian Rodriguez, and Donovan Alvarez.  He is preceded in death by his father, Julian Alvarez.

He served as a police officer in the CCPD for 15 years.  He was proud to obtain the rank of senior officer.  While working full-time, Andres earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminology from Texas A&M Kingsville in 2015, Summa Cum Laude.  He began work on his post graduate studies before he became ill, and was only one year away from receiving a Master's Degree in Counseling.

Andres was a private man, who loved his family, and took pride in the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and no nonsense relationships with those he loved.

There will be a memorial service held in his honor on Thursday May 30, 2019 at Guardian Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.
