Ana Maria Penaflor, 68 years old. Passed away on July 15, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas after a brief illness.

She will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew her.

Ana is preceded in death by her grandmother Anita S. Gonzalez, parents Francisco and Santos Cruz, and four brothers Francisco Jr., Carlos, Mario, and Ricky.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years Jose S. Penaflor, her son Juan J. Penaflor (Jackie), daughter Marisol Penaflor (Alexandra), three grandchildren Marisa R. Penaflor, Jilissa A. Ojeda, and Jevanah X. Penaflor. Two great-grandchildren Jiliana Guerra and Tyler Wright.

She is survived by four sisters, Celia, Rita, Juana, and Corina. One brother, Fernando, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ana had a passion for word search puzzles, watching her novellas, playing computer games and making memories with her loved ones.

We would like to thank the hospital staff at Christus Spohn Hospital – South for their care and compassion during her stay.

Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020 at Guardian funeral home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Catholic chapel service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Guardian funeral home.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens cemetery.
