Amelia Santos peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on December 5, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born December 28, 1939 to Esperanza Garcia and Jose Valdez in Pettus, Texas.

She retired from The Corpus Christi State School where she worked for many years. Amelia was a devoted loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a dedicated member of her church Our Lady of Guadulupe for many years.  Amelia loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren run around her home. She was always greeted with hugs, kisses and "I love you Grandma." She enjoyed watching tv with her husband cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and her beloved Dallas Cowboys.

She had a passion for gardening and all of her beautiful plants her green thumb grew. She loved dancing with her husband to Tejano music. Amelia enjoyed her trips to the casino with her husband Leon, brother in-law and sister in-law Raymond and Janie. She loved visiting Eagle Pass and Rockport, Texas. She was always committed to attending her grandchildren's school programs and events. Amelia enjoyed bingo with her daughters and granddaughters and was always a lucky winner whether it was bingo or her scratch offs. She had so many people that called her Mom and was loved by many. Amelia left an impact on many lives and touched so many souls with her kind words and unconditional love.

Amelia is preceded in death by her loving mother Esperanza Garcia and father Jose Valdez. As well as her son Hector Villarreal Jr. and brothers Alejandro and Johnny Longoria.

Amelia leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Leon Santos Jr., sister Rosa Valdez, her daughters Debra Ann Saenz (Richard Saenz), Priscilla Sanchez (Anestacio Sanchez), Yvonne Rivera and Yvette Santos.

Her grandchildren Andrew, Rikki and Lori Saenz. Mariah, Jonathan, Sarah, Jeremiah and Nathaniel Rivera. Anestacio Jr., Aiden, Aaron and Natalie Sanchez.

Her many great grandchildren Isabella, Chance and Xavier Saenz. Michael and Amelia Garcia and Alejandro Saenz. Daniel Cronin, Mando and Gabriel Martinez. Lillian, Jonathan James and Elijah Rivera. Elizabelle Hurtado and Oliver Rocha. Her grandpuppy Princess Nala Ann.

Pallbearers will be Anestacio Sr., Anestacio Jr., Aiden and Aaron Sanchez, Andrew Saenz, Johnny Longoria, Alex Longoria  Jr. and Daniel Cronin.

Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Guardian funeral home chapel ''A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church at 10:00 a.m. All services will conclude at the Church.
