"The Lopez family mournfully announces the peaceful passing of our mother Amelia Prado Lopez on May 10th, 2020 at her home in Corpus Christi. Amelia was 91 years old.

A 10 AM memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home and Crematory 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Tx 78417.

Born on February 19, 1929 to parents Paula Rios and Francisco Prado, Amelia was one of six children; Pedro, Alfredo, Gilberto, Olivia, and Cosme. She married in 1950 at age 21 to Oscar Lopez. Amelia and Oscar eventually welcomed a total of seven children into the world; Adalgisa, Alveza, Oscar, Pedro, Arturo, Maria, and Paula. Through her work as a seamstress, Amelia provided for her family by working long hours making alterations for local clients.

Amelia is survived by her children Alveza, Oscar (Mercy), Pedro (Candy), Arturo, Maria (Jorge),  and Paula, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Along with instilling us with her strong work ethic, Amelia taught us the importance of family and staying together. She was constantly surrounded by family even in her final days. We take comfort knowing she will remain with us in memory and spirit."
