Alonzo "Al"
Yanez Sr.
March 27, 1949 – January 12, 2025
It is with our greatest heartbreak that we announce that our Alonzo "Al" Yanez Sr., 75, gained his wings on January 12, 2025, he was surrounded by his loving family as he entered eternal rest. He was born on March 27, 1949. Al was the beloved son of Daniel and Lucia Yanez.
Al proudly served in the United States Navy from 1970 – 1975. Al retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) after 30 + years, and continued to work after his retirement, while waiting for his Cyndi to retire.
Al loved hunting fishing, barbecuing, and a variety of other activities. Al loved to work with his hands and had built many things for his ranch and home. Al was a "TRUE BLUE" Dallas Cowboys fan, and "enjoyed" watching "DA BOYZ", WIN, LOSE, OR DRAW!!!!
Al met Cynthia "Cyn" Galvan-Yanez while employed at CCAD and they married on December 16, 2000, they spent 24 wonderful, crazy, adventurous, and very loving years together.
He is preceded by his parents Daniel and Lucia Yanez.
He leaves behind his children, son Al "Palawishus" Yanez Jr., his wife Nancy, and their children Ryan (Faith) Yanez and Michael Yanez. A daughter Danette Fjerstad, and husband Todd, and their children Myla Rudd, and Thomas Rudd. A son, Aaron Yanez, and his wife Becky and their daughter Eliana. And his youngest son Tony Yanez. A daughter Miranda Yanez and her son Quinton Smith. And his youngest daughter, Mikayla Plourde, and husband Derek and their son Ronen. He leaves behind one sister, Sylvia Tristan and her husband Isreal, and their children J.D. Alaniz, and Danny Alaniz. Al also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Alma Gloria Garcia. His sister in law Marisa Thomas, husband Josh, their children, Carter, Auburn, and Jacob, and his brother-in-law Jon Garcia.
And many other family members, and a multitude of friends.
And his own zoo, which include his 4 dogs, Whiskey, Zoey, Snickers and Skittles, his cat Mr. Miagyi.
Al's memory will live on in the hearts of all that were fortunate to know him.
Your life was a blessing
Your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words
Missed beyond measure.
Public Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Guardian Funeral Home . Military Honors will be rendered.
