In Loving Memory of Alma Gloria Flores
November 30, 1937 – April 17, 2025
With profound sadness but hearts full of gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Gloria Flores, who entered eternal rest on April 17, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born Alma Gloria Saenz on November 30, 1937, in Benavides, Texas, Gloria was the daughter of Jose and Constancia Saenz, and was raised in Alice, Texas, where her vibrant spirit and love for people first began to shine. On May 30, 1954, she married her soulmate and lifelong partner, Biterbo "Billy" Flores, Jr., and together they built a home rooted in love, laughter, and family.
Gloria was a woman full of life—outgoing, warm-hearted, and always ready with a joke or a smile. She had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcomed, whether it was during a quiet moment at home or surrounded by loved ones at family gatherings. Her joy was contagious, and her presence was a blessing to all who knew her.
She had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life—trail rides, arts and crafts, caring for children, and helping anyone in need. Her hands were rarely still, always creating something beautiful or lending help where it was needed most. She had a nurturing soul and an open heart that extended far beyond her immediate family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy, her parents, Jose and Constancia, and her dear sons, Arnoldo and Biterbo III. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing she is reunited with them once again.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy and is survived by her children, Edna (Rene) Canas and Gene Flores; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry pieces of her love, humor, and strength within them.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 7522 Everhart Rd.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. Gloria will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit lives on in every story shared, every laugh echoed, and every act of kindness passed forward.
"She lived, she laughed, she loved—and we are better for it."
