Obituary

Aliiao Tufono (aka Lua) was born to Leagatonu and Lagiulatuimanua Augafa in Honolulu, Hawaii. Aliiao was the oldest of seven children. She attended Farrington High School. For a short period, she attended Santa Ana Valley High School, in Santa Ana, California then she returned to Farrington High School. During her marriage to Foloi' Faitau, four children were born to this union, July Faitau, Scott Faitau, Christian Faitau, and Matalena Faitau. Aliiao has 11 grandchildren, and she love all of them. Aliiao had some challenges during her teenage years, like many of us, so her mother sent her to California with her Aunty Taeleese Polamalu in Santa Ana, California. After a while, she missed her mother and family in Hawaii. She then returned to Honolulu. Aliiao had a close relationship with the Polamalu clan. Aliiao was struggling with life so she decided to make some changes to better her life by moving in with Peli and Talalupe Leulu. When Peli's job relocated him and his family to Corpus Christi, Texas, they did not leave Aliiao behind but moved her with them. Aliiao loved Talalupe, Peli and children, Faatilua, Wayne, and Akenese. She loved her Pomele family. You can count to see her at the family faalavelave. Towards the end of her life, she returned to Honolulu and was cared by Cousin Jessie. In the early part of 2022, she moved back to Corpus Christi, Texas where she spent her last days with Talalupe, her children, and her daughters July and Matalena. Despite the ups and downs of life Aliiao faced, she knew that her source of strength came from the Lord. Aliiao accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and she's resting in the Arms of our Savior. Thank God that she is in a place where there is no more pain and no more sorrow. She will be missed.

She was proceeded in death by Leagatonu, father, Lagiulatuimanua, mother and Felix, brother. She leaves to mourn her passing her children July, Scott, Christian, Matalena, and eleven grandchildren. Her siblings Aoatoa Pomele Augafa, Scott Augafa, Florence Iafeta, Susan Levu, Pa'u Augafa, and Tony Augafa. Also, Talalupe, Faatilua, Wayne, Akenese. Aliiao loved her family and many cousins, aunties, and uncles.
