Alicia (Alyce) Esparza entered the gates of heaven on October 14, 2017.  She was born on June 08, 1939 in Benavides, Texas to Santos and Maria Lopez.

Alyce graduated from Del Mar College receiving her LVN license in 1964.  She supervised the first Plasmapheresis Center in Corpus Christ.  She later worked in Home Health and several nursing homes-a job she truly loved. She was not only a mother to her 6 biological children, but was a second mother to many family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Ramon Esparza Jr, a brother, Santos Lopez Jr, and two sisters, Mary Lou Garcia and Antonia Govella.

She leaves to cherish her memories 4 sons: Richard (Gloria), Ramon III (Aurora), Michael (Rebecca), and Jesus (Eva), 2 daughters: Kimberly (Lasaro) and Ludin, her sister Carmen Lopez, 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren including her beloved grandson, Andrew Canales and her loyal dog, Chico.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Janie, her friend and caretaker, Corpus Christi Hospice and Senior Care.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5-9 pm with the holy rosary recited at 7 pm at Guardian Funeral Home.  Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10:00am at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Her remains will be interred next to her beloved mother in Benavides, TX .
