IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alicia Hernandez
Lara
March 14, 1950 – March 10, 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alicia Hernandez Lara, 74, of Corpus Christi, Texas. Alicia left this world surrounded by the love she so selflessly gave to others throughout her life. Alicia's greatest pride and joy was her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Augustin O. Lara, her parents, Manuela and Miguel Hernandez, and her siblings Israel, Ismael, Victor, José, Miguel Jr., and Adelita Hernandez.
She is survived by her three children: Santos Elisa Lara (Miguel), Augustin Lara Jr., and Miguel Esteban Lara (Michael). Alicia also leaves behind her cherished siblings Concepción Ortiz (Jesse), Manuel Hernandez (Juanita), Christina Garcia, Marylou Ramirez, Juanita Delgado, Norma Martinez (Emilio), Anita Cavazos (Eddie), Adelaida Garcia (Mario), and David Hernandez. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Alina Camille Avila (Miguel), Brianna Renee Garcia (Lauren), Augustin Lorenzo Garcia, Miguel Bernardo Garcia, Marcus Alon (Brittany), Austin Ryan Lara, Amanda Danielle Lara, Gabby and Mia Lara. Additionally, Alicia adored her five great-grandchildren: Miguel Quezada III "Tres," Max Sebastian Quezada, Olivia Rea Alon, Lawson Dean Marshall, and Paisleigh Rose Marshall. She also had over a hundred nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.
Alicia was a devoted wife to her late husband, Augustin, sharing 22 years of marriage and caring for him until his final days. She dedicated her life to caring for others, always putting their needs above her own. Whether she was volunteering at Crockett Elementary or Martin Middle School, watching over the neighborhood children from her favorite spot outside, or singing at her favorite Mexican restaurants, Alicia made the world a warmer and kinder place. Her joy was found in life's simple pleasures—playing bingo, singing her favorite songs, and spending time with friends. She had a way of bringing people together, creating laughter and comfort wherever she went.
