IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Mae
Bradley
November 18, 1931 – December 24, 2016
Alice Mae Bradley, 85, beloved wife, mother, granny, nene, great granny, and aunt, went to be with the Lord and her Donald on December 24, 2016 after a long, hard fought battle with COPD. Her daughter, grandson, two of her great-grandsons and one great-great granddaughter were by her side. She was born November 18, 1931 in Galien, OH. She graduated from Hamilton High in Hamilton, OH, in 1950. She moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1951. She worked at J. C. Penney's at Parkdale Plaza for years. She was promoted to floor manager at the new Penney's when it opened in Padre Staples Mall (La Palmira Mall). She then worked at Dillard's as their first bridal consultant. She loved traveling around the U. S. and abroad with her husband. They traveled to most of the states in the U. S. and her favorites were the north eastern ones during the fall months. She was on a bowling league with her husband when she was younger. She loved visits from family and friends, working puzzles, playing spider solitaire and hidden objects games on her computer, playing Yahtzee, reading and shopping. She loved to laugh and her wit was quick and sharp. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she would start playing Christmas music in October of every year. She never met a stranger and was always ready to listen, really listen, if someone needed to talk. If you needed her, she was there. While raising her family she could tell if you were trying to pull one over on her and sometimes did have eyes in the back of her head. She didn't miss much. She could stretch five dollars a very long way and she made the best fried chicken ever.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Grace Steinbock, her brothers Bill, Don, Louie, and Ralph Steinbock and her sisters Ruth Landry, Beverly Clouse, and Irene Rainbolt, niece, Judy Mulzman and her husband of 60 years, Donald. She is survived by her three children James (Carmen), Ernest (Deborah), and Deborah (Jim) Jobe; nine grandchildren, Ernest (Kristi) Bradley Jr. Jennifer Rogers, Heather (Ronnie) Wilcoxen, Christopher Bradley, Jo Kelley, Richard (Suzanne) Jobe, Rebecca (James) Fairman, Josh (Catie)Shobe, Chris (Amber) Martin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kory, Bryton, Danielle (Sunshine), Jaden, Lauren, Nicholas, Savannah, Tyler, Cannon, Paiton, Hunter, Addi and Luca; one great-great granddaughter, Maggie, her beloved niece Petey, who was like a daughter to her, (Larry) Wade; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, her two Pomeranians, Pia and Nicky and three cats, Yoda, Baby and Frankie. She was a huge animal lover. She always said she would live a very long time because she loved to drink wine and eat dark chocolate.
The family wishes to express very special thanks to the wonderful nurses, aides, Chaplin and Grief Counselor and all the caring people at Christus Spohn Hospice. She loved all of you and was very appreciative for your care, dedication and your kindness. She considered you her friends.
