Alfredo Zamora, affectionately known as "The Rose King," passed away early Sunday morning, June 22, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on February 10, 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a beloved voice on South Texas radio, a proud florist, and a veteran who served his country with honor.

For over 30 years, Alfredo hosted his popular Sunday afternoon radio show on Magic 104.9 FM, where his warm voice and signature phrases—"¿Qué más quieres, corazón?" and "Thank you, ladies and gentlemen"—made him a cherished presence in countless homes. Off the air, he shared his gift for beauty through the Rose King Flower Shop, creating floral arrangements that brought comfort, joy, and meaning to so many.

Before his career in radio and flowers, Alfredo served proudly in the United States Army, a role he honored for the rest of his life. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Alfredo married the love of his life, Helen Gomez Zamora, on March 17, 1962. They shared 47 devoted years together before her passing in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his eldest son, Alfredo Zamora Jr., in 2021 and his two brothers, Arturo Zamora and Arnulfo Zamora.

He is survived by his son Mark Zamora and wife Veronica; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Zamora; grandchildren Alfredo Andrew Zamora III (Cameron), Illiana Zamora, Marissa Missa Zamora (Hunter), Carolina Zamora (Jose), Mark Anthony Zamora, Cristian M. Zamora, Johnathan Zamora, and Olivia Zamora; and great-grandchildren Maggie and Aaron.

He is also survived by his siblings: Rose Lowke, and Manuela Guerrero, as well as many beloved friends, customers, and loyal listeners.

Public visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, at Guardian funeral home with a Service to be conducted at 11:30 a.m. to Celebrate Mr. Alfredo V. Zamora's life. Burial will follow with full millitary honors at Rose Hill cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
