IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfonso C.
Hernandez
May 25, 1948 – November 20, 2020
Alfonso C. Hernandez passed away suddenly surrounded by his wife and children on Friday November 20, 2020.
He loved God, his wife, his children, grandchildren, great-grands, family, friends and life in general. He enjoyed getting together with friends and family and was often the life of the party.
Poncho served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1970 and when he came home he met the love of his life Cyndi.
They married in March 1973 until he was called home to be with the lord. His family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
He was a truck driver for HEB for over 30 years until he retired and began driving for Wal-Mart for the next 11 years. Although he enjoyed traveling and seeing the country, he got homesick and wanted to spend more time with his family. He was not quite ready to retire completely, so he went to work at his daughters and son in law's family business, Custom Audio, where he made himself known as O.T. (Old Timer) when asked why, he said he wanted to beat the youngters to it being he was the oldest one there. Thats just how he rolled, as he would say. He lived his retirement years exactly how he wanted to, he did it his way.
Alfonso is preceded in death by his father, Luis Hernandez, his mother Trinidad Cevallos Hernandez, his brother Luis "Veve" Hernandez, his brother Ismael "Smiley" Hernandez and his sister Aurora Villarreal.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia V. Hernandez, his son Adriel (Patricia) Hernandez, his daughters Melanie(Eddie) Torres and his son Richie Hernandez. Eight Grandchildren, Marissa (Ivan) Martinez, Dylan (Annette) Torres, Eddie Torres, Justin Hernandez, Adriel Hernandez, Jr., Nicolas Torres, Nathan Torres and Ellyana Grace Torres. Five Great- Grands Alayna Marie Torres, Dylan Mathew Torres, Elias Martinez, Dylilah Ann Torres, and Israel Martinez. His Sister Adelfa(Merce) Garcia, brother George Hernandez and Melba Hernandez (Jesse Buentello); Numerous Nieces Nephews and a multitude of friends that become family.
