Obituary

Alejandro Ochoa, Jr., 57, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was born on September 10, 1968 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alejandro Ochoa, Sr., and his nephews: Michael Anthony Cazarez and Jacob Michael Cazarez.

Alex is survived by his mother, Rosa (Hernandez) Ochoa; son, Alejandro Phillip Ochoa (Amanda), granddaughter, Sophia Rose Ochoa, sister, Marisol Ochoa Vasquez (Max), his nieces, Bryana Adelaida Cazarez, Mikaela Merzedez Cazarez (Andrick) and Ariella Willow Rivera.

Alex Ochoa, Jr. was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.
He had a zest for life that shone through his love of music, dancing, laughter, and camaraderie. Those who knew him well, YOU LOVED HIM, and remember his charismatic spirit, his ability to form deep connections, and his unwavering readiness to help others. Hardworking and sincere, Alex gave of himself freely, his warmth as wide as his smile, and his laughter as contagious as his joy.

His greatest treasures in life were his mother, Rose; his son, Alex; daughter-in-law, Amanda; and beloved granddaughter, Sophia Rose. They filled his heart with happiness and a renewed sense of purpose. As an uncle, he adored and spoiled his nieces — Bryana, Mikaela, and Ariella — cheering them on in every milestone and success. As a brother, he was a protector, confidant, and partner in crime — "Shhh."

From a young age, Alex inherited a deep passion for music. He mastered the violin, viola, bass, and trombone, and his singing voice was as powerful and free as an eagle soaring across the sky. When he sang, it captivated everyone around him. Music and dance were his languages of joy; no melody could play without his feet starting to move and his hips joining in. His energy lit up every room, leaving laughter and smiles in his wake.

Alex touched the lives of everyone he met, leaving behind pieces of love, laughter, and kindness that will never fade. We are all better for having known him. He would want us to celebrate his life — to raise a glass, take that trip, dance until your feet ache, and embrace each day with passion and joy. That is his lasting wish for us all.
