Alberto Gonzalez, born on May 5, 1945, in Nueces County, has peacefully departed from this world. A decorated Vietnam Veteran, Alberto proudly served his country and was awarded the Purple Heart and several other medals for his bravery and sacrifice.
Albert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for the outdoors led him to spend cherished moments on his land, where he indulged in the art of hunting. An avid enthusiast of mechanics, Alberto took great pleasure in working on vehicles and possessed a unique talent for fixing things. His hands carried the skill and dedication of a true craftsman.
Albert is preceded in death by his mother, Maria de la Cerda, and stepfather Salvador de la Cerda of Corpus Christi. He is survived by his siblings: Domingo Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Maria Elena Carr of Bellingham, Washington, and Alicia Frierson of Garland, Texas. In the tapestry of family, Albert's memory will live on through the hearts of those who held him dear.
A graveside service to honor Albert's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 , at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
May Alberto Gonzalez rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and solace to those who mourn his passing.
