Obituary

Albert Raul Cavazos passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2025 in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 87 after a long battle with Parkinson's.  He was born on January 25, 1938 to Alberto Z. Cavazos & Consuelo Garza in Brownsville, Texas.  After graduating from Miller High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and then went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-five years.

Albert married Rose Ramirez of Beeville, Texas on September 2, 1967 with whom he enjoyed 58 years of marriage.  Albert was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went.  Many people, from childhood friends, to senior pickleball buddies at the YWCA, and coffee group buddies were blessed to have Albert in their lives as a steadfast friend for life.

He and Rose enjoyed traveling and regularly playing cards and Bunco with several longtime friends.  Albert was a faithful member of Grace Presbyterian Church for decades where many friends remember him fondly upon his departure to the Lord's presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Consuelo Cavazos and sister Grace Meeker of San Francisco, California.

He is survived by his wife Rose, his brother Eddie Cavazos of Austin, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews across Texas and beyond.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:30pm on Friday, October 3, at Guardian Funeral Home at 5922 Crosstown Expressway in Corpus Christi.  Internment will immediately follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 9974 I-37 Access Road in Corpus Christi at 2:00pm.
