IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adolfo (Adolph)
Marquez Gonzales
June 12, 1935 – October 13, 2024
It is with our greatest heartbreak we announce the passing of our beloved Adolfo (Adolph) Marquez Gonzales who joined his adored wife Rita of 61 years in Heaven, days after her death. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Adolph died peacefully, on October 13, 2024, surrounded by his children and loved ones. Adolph was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 12, 1935, the youngest child of Juan and Isabel Marquez Gonzalez. He was a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, class of 1954. He was nicknamed "Hoss" by his classmates and he excelled on the varsity track team. Adolph won district and regional titles, qualifying for State Championship. He competed in the 1954 Texas State Championship Meet and won 3rd place in the 880 yard dash. After graduation, Adolph studied at Del Mar College, the internationally renowned Mexico City College, and the University of Houston. Adolph Gonzales family lineage is traced to the Coronado Expedition that traveled through Texas in 1540.
Adolph met Rita on a blind date and they were married April 21, 1963. They raised three children and worked hard to fulfilled their greatest dream of seeing each of their children graduate from college and having successful careers.
