Adolfo "Popo" Avalos passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 25, 2022 at the age of 52.

He was born in Weslaco, Texas to his parents Armando Avalos, Sr. and Teodora Dueñes Avalos on September 11, 1969.

A beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many is now at rest. It is nearly impossible to sum up such a great life in only a few words. Many would describe Popo as brave, loyal and generous. On January 17, 2001 his life was forever changed when his princess Alyssa Marie Avalos was born. He loved his baby girl more than anything in the world and valued her as his most prized gift from God.

Always with his shades on his face and a joke on his lips, he left an everlasting impression on our hearts. He had a way of making each individual person feel important, whether it was a special nickname you were given or an inside joke he shared with you; this was his way of sharing his love. Even in life's most difficult moments Popo found light and laughter and was always ready to share that joy with those around him. As a thrill seeker he had a love for theme parks; somewhere between the fear and anticipation of riding and the memories he made while in flight brought him great laughter. His legacy teaches us to never back down and to always to be true to your word. The wonderful memories he leaves behind will live on in our hearts for generations to come.

He joyfully returned to his heavenly home to be greeted by his parents Armando Avalos, Sr. and Teodora Dueñes Avalos; his brother Armando Avalos, Jr. and nephews: Jeremy Peters, Thomas Peters.

Popo is survived by his daughter Alyssa Marie Avalos; siblings: Aida A. Peters, Abel (Connie) Avalos, Azalea Avalos Sanchez, Arnoldo Avalos, Adam (Susan) Avalos; mother of his daughter: Misty Garza; nieces and nephews: Andres Avalos and his son Austin Avalos; Jaeden Baker, Audrey Avalos (her daughter Savanna), Abel Avalos, Aaron (Amanda) Avalos, Eileen (Scott) Senteney, Stephanie Avalos, Nicole Avalos, Arnoldo (Ruby) Avalos, Jr., Matthew Avalos; along with numerous extended members of the family whom he loved.

Public Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with an evening service to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with the Burial to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Pedro Limonise, Andres Avalos, Matthew Avalos, Austin Avalos, Aaron Avalos, and Ramiro Cerda.
