Adelmira “Del” Vera, 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026.

Born on August 12, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Andres “Henry” and Paula Herrera, Adelmira was known for her strength, her faith, and her unwavering love of God.

She found joy in family gatherings, attending church, reading her Bible, and spending time with her beloved kitty cats. Her presence brought comfort, warmth, and laughter to those around her, and she will be remembered for the love she shared so generously.

Adelmira was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Vera; sisters, Margie Saldana and Manuela Castro; brothers Calistro Sr., Baltazar, Jesse, and Rudy Herrera; and her granddaughter, Jena Renee Garcia.

She is survived by her daughter, Janie Rusek; granddaughter, Johanna Raye (Jason) DuBose; grandson, Trey Garcia; great‑grandsons, Xander and Zachary Garcia; brothers David (Elida) and Andy (Minerva) Herrera; and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Her love continues to live on through every person whose life she touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Guardian Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family invites all who knew and loved Adelmira to join them in honoring her life and sharing memories of the beautiful person she was.
