IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adelfino S.
Palacios
February 17, 1929 – September 10, 2024
Adelfino S. Palacios
February 17, 1929-September 10, 2024
Adelfino S. Palacios, 95 beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 surrounded by the love and faith of his family.
Born in Concepcion, Texas on February 17, 1929 to Victoriano and Nicolasa Palacios, he lived his early years as a migrant farm worker and helped with supporting his family after the loss of his father.
It was during a Buccaneer Days parade on the roof of Woolworth that he met the love of his life, Renee Maria Garcia. They married on July 19, 1953 and their love and devotion lasted through 65 years. He worked at Rainbow Baking Company for a period of time. He then worked at Borden's, Incorporated for 32 years.
Together, they raised a family they were truly proud of: six children, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren with another two expected in October and December, 2024.
His love of his family was seen through his support of education and his pride in all of them. He loved seeing his family receive their high school and college degrees. He was present in his grandchildren's activities and their joys.
All knew that he was always up early---because it was such an ingrained habit leftover from his Borden's days of being at work early every morning to get the milk machines up and running.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Renee Maria Garcia Palacios; his brothers: Victoriano Palacios, Paul Palacios, Nicolas Palacios and Esmerejildo Palacios; his sister, Dolores Palacios Torres; and his great-grandsons, Joshua J. Peters and Lucas L. Peters.
He is survived by his six children: Adelfino (Rebecca) Palacios, Jr., Javier (Norma) Palacios, David (Mae Palacios), Victor (Isabel) Palacios, Cynthia (Jeff) Billig and Abel (Rosalee) Palacios; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He also survived by his sister, Romanita Palacios Alaniz and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank his dedicated caregivers: Mari Placencia, Paloma Tapia, Martha Hernandez, Anita Gutierrez, Elva Rodriguez, and Martha Guzman.
The support of Nurses on Wheels hospice was invaluable and we thank them for their love and care. We thank Dr. Gerard Boynton and Dr. Andres Bonelli for their dedication and care for our dad.
