Morales
August 19, 1936 – April 2, 2020
Abelardo "Abel" Morales passed away peacefully to reunite with our Heavenly Father and the Love of his life Bertha of which they shared a beautiful marriage of 58 years.
He was born on August 19th in Cuero, Texas to his parents Bartolo and Angelina Morales.
He was a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, and all American Hero.
Abel is preceded in death by his parents, Bartolo and Angelina Morales and sibling's: Mateo Morales, Frank Morales, Camillo Morales, Delores Morales, Lupe Vela, Henry Perez, Robert Perez, Edith Guajardo, Tina Saxton and Velia Cirlio.
Abel is survived by his children that loved him so much: Rudy Garza (Chriselda), Rachel Martinez, Cindy Flores (Henry), and Kathy Saenz. He was loved dearly by his grandchildren: Vanessa, Abel, Ashley, Victoria, Stephen, Alanah, Rudy, Cedric, Arin, Adrianna, Ashley E., Savannah, Austin, and 10 Great Grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart along with his siblings: Celia Chavez, Hilda Sanchez, and Roger Morales.
Abel was a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School class of 1955 (he was true to his Alma Mater "once a Buc always a Buc") he joined the United States Marine Corp and served his country with Honor and Pride. In 1959 Abel attended Del Mar College, receiving his Welding Certification. He was employed with Brown & Root, Ingleside, Texas before planting roots in Freer, Texas in 1976 and began his own business known to the small community as "Abel Morales Welding Services" for 38 years. He provided his excellent welding service skills to Hancock and major corporations like: Exxon Pipeline, Conoco and Shell, to name a few.
Abel was highly regarded by all for his great mild manner and beautiful smile.
Abel was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St Mary's Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. He loved to fish,
barbecue, listen to music and spend time with his family. He was a true loyal fan to America's Team the "Dallas Cowboys" and the Houston Astros.
Dad, thank you for the beautiful memories…you will be missed. We love you!
Due to the constraints of the novel coronavirus; the family will first be having a private graveside service at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
Once restrictions are lifted a public memorial, along with the Funeral Mass and Full Military Honors will be celebrated at a future date as we honor the life of our father, Abel.
