Obituary

Abel "Nuno" Sanchez Jr., a man whose spirit and love for life were as vibrant as a Tejano melody, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on September 24, 1970, Nuno's journey was one of resilience, humor, and an unwavering love for his family and heritage.

Despite the challenges posed by his illness, Nuno faced life with a resilience that inspired everyone around him. He never let his struggles define him or hinder his passion for living. His work history was marked by his time with the renowned Tejano music group, Grupo Mazz, where he contributed to the vibrant Texan music scene that he so dearly loved.

Nuno's interests were a reflection of his exuberant personality. He was often found dancing the night away at Club Rio, where his laughter was contagious and his dance moves, unforgettable. His love for the ranch and the outdoors was equally profound, as he found solace in the beauty of nature and the tranquility of a Texas sunset.

Those who knew Nuno would describe him as loving, spirited, and funny. His presence was a source of comfort and joy to his family and friends. He had the rare ability to light up a room with his humor and to make even the simplest moments seem special. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Nuno's life was a melody composed of moments—some challenging, others delightful, but all played with love and a genuine zest for life. His story is not one of sorrow but a celebration of a man who lived fully, laughed heartily, and loved unconditionally.

Nuno was preceded in death by his father, Abel A. Sanchez Sr., who no doubt welcomed him with open arms. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories for his beloved mother, Enriqueta "Kenny" Sanchez, his brothers, Glen J. Sanchez (Mary) and Randy William Sanchez, and his sister, Myra W. Sanchez-Gutierrez (Alan). His role as a fun-loving uncle will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Jordan E. (Natalie) Sanchez, Zachary E. Sanchez, Evan Rodriguez, Randi De La Garza, and Zoe S. Gutierrez.
